Look Who's Helping Homeless Families

“I had no idea how to 'be' a tutor since my education and work experience was in the medical field and most of my math skills had been tucked away in a little used file. Ms. Betz and later Ms. Ingram encouraged and assisted me while I reviewed fractions, decimals, algebra, and geometry while the students inspired me with their desire to achieve and their willingness to learn. Through this process I've learned far more than I've taught, and I've become a tutor, a mentor, and a friend. Each of us came to volunteer at PH for different reasons, but we've been the ones who were the real winners.
